The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on,and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.” Psalm 28:7 AMP

We are finally here - Epic Commission, class of 2014-2015. After sleepless summer nights of dreadful packing, mixed emotion goodbyes and anticipation lingering in our guts, the year has started. The dust has settled. The awaking to new faces each day has lost it’s newness, and we are all learning what it means to follow this new and exciting rhythm of life. There comes a point when starting a new season loses it’s splendor, when making your bed becomes more of a foreign luxury, and your wallet seems to be a little less thick.

EC Students: there will be days this year that are seemingly insignificant. When the list of to-dos seems more lengthy than you’re capable of completing. There will be days when your roommate is a straight up fruitloop dingus and won’t stop playing the SAME SONG over and over for weeks, and your laundry pile is so huge, you ran out of freaking soap, it’s 12 o’clock at night, you smell like a hamster and you have to be at Prayer at 8:30am tomorrow morning.

There will be days. And those days will pass, the morning will present itself with a new set of eyes and a freshly painted sky wider than your arms can reach. You cannot control what each day will bring, but you can take life and the splendor of each day and experience it to the full. Because if you’re not doing what the Lord’s called you to do in this season, today with joy - then what are you even doing it for?

So I ask you - let joy be the hand that awakens you in the morning, carry you through the days when the flag of defeat tries to hang above your door, and  be the first thing that slips from your tongue. Let joy consume your today.

Catch ya fruitloop dinguses later,
