Pastor Jeff Jones and his wife Beth serve as the Founding & Lead Pastors of Valley Family Church.
Jeff has a passion for making complex truths simple. He is a pastor, husband, and father of four children who teaches the Word in a conversational way that connects with the listener. He ministers with humor and preaches in such a way that people can understand and apply God’s Word to their everyday lives.
In addition to his role as Senior Pastor at VFC, Jeff speaks at conferences and events. He and his wife write the Basics Daily Devotional—a free daily devotional email—and host jeffandbethjones.org.
Jeff has his BA in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, MI and received his ministry training at RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK. He is licensed and ordained through the RHEMA Ministerial Association International.
Pastor Beth Jones and her husband Jeff serve as the Founding & Lead Pastors of Valley Family Church.
Beth Jones is a pastor, wife and mother of four children whose heart is to help people get the basics of God’s Word and to inspire them to believe and live out the faith-filled adventure of following Jesus.
In addition to her role as Senior Pastor at Valley Family Church, which she shares with her husband, Jeff, Beth speaks at conferences and events. She and her husband also write the Basics Daily Devotional—a free daily devotional email—and host jeffandbethjones.org. She is also the author of more than a dozen books, including the popular “Getting A Grip On The Basics” series used around the world.
She received her B.A. in Communications from Boston University, in Boston, Massachusetts and her post-graduate Bible training & ordination through RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Richard Pilger serves as the Executive Pastor overseeing the Family Ministries Division at VFC. Richard has a passion for helping to equip and empower the next generation and his area of oversight includes The Valley Kids Learning Center, Preschool Ministry, Elementary Ministry, Middle School Ministry, High School Ministry, Valley Leadership School, and The Boom Network.
Prior to coming on staff at VFC, Richard worked as a corporate trainer for a national restaurant chain before transitioning to a staff position at RHEMA Bible Church in Tulsa, OK. While on staff at RHEMA, Richard served in a variety of leadership positions and as a n instructor at RHEMA Bible Training Center.
Richard majored in Business Administration at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He received his ministry training at RHEMA Bible Training Center and West Coast Bible College & Seminary and is ordained through RHEMA Ministerial Association International. Richard and his wife Tori have two children.
Annie Jones serves as the VOX Youth Director, our High School Ministry for 8th-12th graders.
Annie received her undergraduate degree from Spring Arbor University and received ministry training from RHEMA Bible Training College. As a student who grew up in the VFC youth group, she has a passion for the youth in Southwest Michigan and desires to carry out the heart and vision of this House by helping the VOX students "get it" through creative and relevant teaching.
Josh and Jaila Rykse serve as the Flex Club Directors. Flex Club is our middle school ministry for 5th-7th graders. They started attending Valley Family Church in High School and both graduated from our EPIC Commission Discipleship Program in 2013. They desire for middle school students to know God and live for Him in an authentic way.
Avery Marschke serves under Richard Pilger as the VLS Resident Director. His role focuses on housing, finances, and events. Avery has a huge heart for discipleship and is excited to help college age students grow in their faith.
Avery is a graduate of EPIC Commission and Valley University through Valley Family Church. He is currently enrolled at Western Michigan University to get his communications degree. Right now, Avery faithfully serves in Flex Club, VFC’s middle school age ministry.
Megan Simkins serves under Richard Pilger as a VLS Support Assistant. Her role focuses on marketing, social media, and admissions. She is also the Resident Assistant in one of the VLS apartments. Megan is excited to help 18-24 year olds grow in their relationship with the Lord and show them how to live a life devoted to Christ.
She is a graduate of EPIC Commission and Valley University through Valley Family Church. Prior to EPIC Commission and Valley University, Megan attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Currently, Megan faithfully serves in Kidamazoo, VFC’s 1st-4th grade ministry.
